New iPhone Update: Add Audio to Your iPhone Pics With SpeakingPhoto

A picture's worth a thousand words, but sometimes our pictures - no matter how fabulous they are - still need a few words of explanation to go along with them.

Enter SpeakingPhoto, a new iPhone app that lets you add sound to any photo, allowing you tell a story along with the image before you share it with friends on Facebook or via email. Finished photo/videos can also be shared on YouTube.

"SpeakingPhoto grew out of a desire to capture the sweet and fleeting sound of children's voices - something home videos tend to diminish," explains Dawn Davis Founding Partner and CEO of SpeakingPhoto.

"From there, we realized that capturing stories, and the emotions behind them, was extremely meaningful. It quickly became apparent that this App can be used in many creative, fun and compelling ways, by people all over the world," she added.

Davis sees the app being used by everyone from real estate agents trying to explain a photo of a property for sale to friends trying to tell the story behind an epic birthday party photo.

Speaking Photo is available now in the App Store in three different version: SpeakingPhoto Lite, a free version of the app that lets users shoot, speak, and share a photo in real-time; a 99-cent iPhone version that lets you annotate images from your camera roll and create slideshows of up to five photos, and a $2.99 iPad version scaled to take advantage of the iPad's larger screen.

You can view your monitors via any browser, as well as the dedicated iOS app which supports up to 16 monitors.

Features include built-in noise and motion detection with push phone alerts and the ability to upload recordings to a Dropbox account.

3. Belkin WeMo Baby

WeMo Baby doesn't offer video, but high-quality audio from your baby's room direct to your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad.

Promising simple set-up, the system connects to your home Wi-Fi network, you just need to download the companion app to get started.

An optional in-app upgrade gives you text and call notifications if the baby cries and boasts analysis of sleep and crying patterns to offer advice.

4. BabyPing

The BabyPing camera uses your home Wi-Fi network to let you see and hear your baby on your iOS device while you're in range of the house, and then 3G, 4G or other Wi-Fi networks if you're out and about.

With automatic "invisible" nightvision you can carry on viewing your little one when it gets dark and get audio, vibrate or on-screen alerts when they cry.

5. iBaby Monitor - M3

The iBaby solution is a swiveling and pivoting camera that you can control either via PC software or the free iOS app.
